SECURalert

The SECURalert integrated system provides location identification and tracking.

Definitions

  • RTLSReal-Time Location System. RTLS devices are used to track the location of a person or object.
  • Tag — A tag is a physical device that tracks location for persons or objects via RF.

Setup

See the Data Servers page for information on configuring driver communication.

Prerequisites

Software Minimum Version
.NET Framework 4.7.2
IPFusion — SECURalert 1.0

When completing your setup, be sure to have the SECURalert documentation available for reference.

Ports

These ports must be open in your network firewall for the integration to work.

Purpose Default Value Configurable
Communication Settings 9800 Yes
Dataserver 9563 Yes
Debug Tools 9564 No

Server Configuration

Before SECURalert can connect to the data server, it must be configured. To set up the server:

  1. On the SECURalert server, log in to the applet as an administrative user.
  2. Click Menu > Application Settings > Server Settings > External Module Settings
  3. Check Remote Server and click Config.
  4. Enter these settings:
    • IP address of port — IP address of the data server machine.
    • Port — Any open port which is not in use.
    • Verify for Ecall central — In most cases this can be set to 120 seconds.
  5. Click Save.

Communication Configuration

In the integrated system configuration panel, you will find the Communication Settings. The following information is required:

Port The port used the communicate with the SECURalert system.
Heartbeat Interval (s) The time in seconds for how frequently SECURalert will be checked to see if it is still online.

SECURalert Server Configuration

The SECURalert server must be configured as the data server in order to facilitate the connection. For more information, see the data servers section.

Assets

Tag Asset

The Tag asset represents a tag in the SECURalert system.

Important: Tag assets are not defined in Designer. Instead, the tag assets are defined in SECURalert then automatically imported into Runtime. If the tag has initialized but not entered a zone yet, the zone listed is Unknown Zone. This will be updated once the tag enters a zone. If the tag leaves that zone area but does not enter a new one, the last known zone for the tag will be displayed.

Supported States

Normal The asset is online and in its default state.
Masked The asset has been masked over its true state.
Fault An issue has been detected in a connected asset.
Acknowledged An asset alarm has been acknowledged.
No Communication Communication has been lost with the driver or asset. This status can also occur if the communication configuration for the system or asset is invalid.
Note: This status is required in all status tables.

See the Configure a Status Table page for more information on configuring status tables.

Supported Commands

Acknowledge Acknowledge an asset alarm.
Mask Mask the asset's true state.
Cancel Deselects all selected assets.
Reset Resets the asset to its true hardware state.

See the Command Tables page for more information on configuring command tables.

Zone

A zone represents an area on the RTLS system site.

Required Property Grid Fields

Device ID The identifier for this zone within the SECURalert system.

Troubleshooting

Logs from the driver and Runtime can be viewed in the Debug Tools client. These messages contain information which can provide further context for issues during initialization, or while actively running. This can help diagnose problems.
