Using Shapes in Workflows

Display Layout Shapes can also be used to either trigger an Action or Workflow.

Items that can be used to trigger a Workflow include:
  • Rectangle
  • Ellipse
  • Line
  • Polygon
  • Text
  • Image

Once the Shape has been added, you can use it as a Workflow trigger.

Use a Shape to Trigger a Workflow

Clicking a Shape can be used to trigger a Workflow.

To use a Shape to trigger a Workflow, follow the steps below.

  1. In Project Explorer, double-click the Workflow to edit, or right-click Interactive or Background Workflows to Add one.
  2. Double-click the Start block to open the Triggers dialog box. Click Add.
  3. In the Trigger Browser, navigate to Display Layouts > Display Layout. Expand the Layout containing the Shape. Anyone of the following shapes will contain these triggers:
  4. In the Events pane, select one of the triggers:
    • On Click Left — Fires when the button is left-clicked.
    • On Click Right — Fires when the button is right-clicked.
  5. Click OK to set the trigger.
