Asset Groups

Assets can be placed into a group. This organizes them in Project Explorer, and allows them to be moved across a Map as a unit.

Asset groups are most commonly used to keep composite assets together. A composite asset will be a collection of assets representing the different potential parts of a larger group. For example, below is a composite asset which displays all of the different elements of a door. This includes:
  • A reader asset which shows whether the reader for the door is currently enabled
  • An alarm asset which shows if the door has been held or forced open
  • An asset which shows whether REX (Request to Exit) is currently enabled on the door
  • A door asset which shows whether the door is currently secured or not

Tip: When interacting with groups, you can:
  • Click any icon in the group to select the entire group
  • Double-click any icon in the group to select that individual asset
When selecting multiple groups, the key object will be highlighted in blue. When any alignment settings are used, the key object is the reference point. E.g., if all selected groups are being aligned to the right, it will be aligned relative to the key group.
