Test an Actall Hubsens Tag
Before using a tag, you can test that it has a charged battery and is able to send alarms to the server. This allows you to ensure the tag works before using it.
To test a tag:
- If you have not already, connect to the Actall server.
- If using a non-public access level, click Tag Test.
-
Enter the ID of your tag and click Start Test.
Note: In order to test a tag, it must be located within a designated test zone. If it is not, it will fail to go into test mode. Tags which are in a test zone do not send their alarms to Runtime.
-
Once on the tag testing page, verify the displayed information.
ID The given ID for the tag. Tag Type The type of tag this is (Tag or HDT). Assigned To The person the tag is assigned to. Current Location The ID for the zone the tag is in. Last Updated The timestamp for when an update was last received for this tag. Battery Level Whether the tag has battery power left (pass) or not (fail). Alarm Received Whether the test alarm has been received or not. -
Trigger an alarm from your tag. Once it is received, the Alarm
Received result will change to
Pass.
Note: The testing page will time out after 30 seconds by default. Be sure to press the button within that time period.
-
If your tag passed the tests and Assign Tags After Public Test is enabled
in your dashboard settings, you are redirected based on your access level:
- Public — You are sent to the Edit page for your tag. This allows you to assign it to yourself before using the tag. If the test fails, you are directed back to the tag test page to try another tag.
- Admin/Manager — You are sent back to the Tag Test page.
-
Tags can also be unassigned using the Unassign button.
This button allows the user to see who was assigned to the tag and to unassign a
user from the tag without needing to perform a tag test first. After clicking
the Unassign button, a confirmation page will appear to verify the decision to
unassign a user.
Note: The Assign Tags After Public Test checkbox must be enabled to use this feature.
