Validate a Rule
Rules configuration may leave some objects inaccessible in Runtime. The Validate button helps identify which objects are not covered by existing Rules. Validation also runs automatically when the user opens the Publication window or launches Runtime in Designer.

Click the Validate button on the top-left corner of the
Rules page.Note: Save the project before validating to ensure the warnings reflect the most recent changes.

Within the Warnings browser, check to see if any
warnings need to be addressed. These warnings can include:
Assets - Asset is not in a Collection that is covered by an Alarm Rule → No Workstation will receive alarms from this asset
- Asset is not in a Collection that is covered by an Select Rule → No Workstation will be able to select this asset
- Asset is not in a Collection that is covered by an View Rule → No Workstation will be able to see icons for this asset
Maps - Map is not in a Map Rule → No Workstation will be able to access this Map
Workstations - This Workstation currently has no Rules assigned to it
Rule - This Rule has not been assigned to any Workstation → The Rule will have no affect on the system
- Dismiss any warnings that do not need attention by clicking on Dismiss Selected, or dismiss multiple warnings by using Shift+click or Ctrl+click.
