Find Milestone Stream ID

A Milestone camera may have multiple viewable streams containing different quality settings. You may want to configure your cameras to use different streams depending on a Workstation's connected network speed. If the Stream ID for a camera asset is left blank, the default stream will be used instead.

To find a Stream ID:

  1. On your Milestone server, open the Milestone XProtect Management Client.
  2. Open Recording Servers and expand the server containing the camera.
  3. Navigate to the camera you want the stream ID from, and press CTRL while clicking the Streams tab.

  4. Click the Stream XML button.

  5. Find the stream with the same name as the one you want to use, and copy the referenceid.

Once you have the Stream ID, you can set it in your camera asset's Properties.
