Import/Export Collections

Collections can be imported and exported to CSV files. You can update and create Collections when making updates to your CSV. However, Collections cannot be deleted when importing. This can be used to make mass changes and additions to the contents of your Collections.

Create New or Update Existing Collections

To create new or update existing Collections using Import/Export:

  1. In the Collections page, click Export to generate a CSV with the current Collections in the project.
    Note: The project must be saved before Exporting.
  2. Once you have saved your CSV file, it will be opened automatically.
  3. Configure the below properties:
    Id The ID of the Collection.
    Important: To create a new Collection, leave this blank.
    Name The friendly name of the Collection. Collections with matching IDs must also have matching Names.
    Important: When ID is blank, a new Collection will be created for each unique name in the CSV.
    ItemId The path that is used to locate the item in the Collection.
    ItemId Format:
    • All Asset in All Integrated Systems - [IntegratedSystems]
      • All Assets in an Integrated System Instance - [IntegratedSystems/IntegratedSystem-1]
        • All Assets of a specific Asset Type - [IntegratedSystems/IntegratedSystem-1/Camera]
          • Individual Assets - [IntegratedSystems/IntegratedSystem-1/Camera/123]
    • All Assets on All Maps - [Maps]
      • All Assets on a specific Map - [Maps/Map-1]
        • All Assets of an Integrated System Instance on a Map - [Maps/Map-1/IntegratedSystem-1]
          • All Assets of a specific Asset Type on a Map - [Maps/Map-1/IntegratedSystem-1/Camera]
            • Individual Assets - [Maps/Map-1/IntegratedSystem-1/Camera/123]
    Note: Using the Map path and the Integrated System path will effectively select the same asset
  4. Save the CSV file.
  5. In Designer, click Import and select your updated CSV file. When prompted to proceed, click OK.
