Collections in Workflows

Collections can be used in Workflows to help simplify projects.

Action Block

Collections are available within the Action Browser as a Command Parameter. To access Collections available in the project, find the Asset Selection Browser. When accessing Collections through this browser, you will be able to select a Collection that has already been defined. The hierarchy is displayed as follows:

  • All Collections in a Project

    • Specific Collection
  • All Assets in a Project

    • All Assets in an Integrated System Instance
      • All Assets of a specific Asset Type
        • Individual Assets
  • All Assets on All Maps

    • All Assets on a specific Map
      • All Assets of an Integrated System Instance on a Map
        • All Assets of a specific Asset Type on a Map
          • Individual Assets
  1. Create a Workflow.
  2. Configure the Workflow trigger.
  3. Add an Action block to the Workflow. Connect it to the blocks being executed before and after it.
  4. Double-click the Action block to open the Action Browser.
  5. To access the Asset Selection Browser, the chosen Command must use Selected Assets. The following is a list of applicable Commands that use Collections:
    • Integrated System > Integrated System Instance > Execute Asset Command
    • Alarms > Add to Alarm Posting
    • Alarms > Remove Assets from Postings
    • Alarms > Assign Alarm Map for Assets
    • Alarms > Set Assets Postings
    • Display Layout > Select Assets
    • Display Layout > Set Assets Visibility
  6. Click on Selected Assets. This will give you access to the Asset Selection Browser.
  7. Custom-created Collections appear under the Collections object, while automatically-defined Collections can be selected by double-clicking the other objects there by default.

Logic Block

Collections can be used in the Logic Editor through the Collections tab.
