Add New Legend

A Legend serves as a visual reference for interpreting icons and colors that indicate system statuses.

To create a Legend, follow the steps below.

  1. In Project Explorer right-click Legend and select Add.
  2. Once a new Legend is added, it can now be Edited, Duplicated or Deleted by right-clicking on the Legend in the Project Explorer.
  3. Configure the layout by editing its Properties.
  4. Add the required Integrated Systems.
  5. Add Shapes to customize the Legend's appearance.
Note: The About and Close buttons appear by default, always appear above all other objects, and cannot be deleted.

Add an Integrated System (Default Mode)

  1. The Toolbox lists the available statuses for each integrated system that have already been configured in the project. Once configured, those statuses appear in the Toolbox and can be placed on the canvas. Each status icon can display a different status from the Status Table.
  2. Drag and drop the desired icon statuses onto the canvas. Their settings can be adjusted in the Properties grid.
  3. Once the icon statuses are dragged onto the canvas, they display color and flashing behavior depending on how the status is configured in that specific integrated system's settings. To customize these settings, go to the specific integrated system's setting page and adjust the color and flash options under the Appearance section.
  4. Add Captions or Labels to identify each status.

Add an Integrated System (Advanced Mode)

  1. The Toolbox lists the available subtypes for each integrated system that has already been configured in Advanced Mode and added to the project. Once configured, those subtypes appear in the Toolbox and can be placed on the canvas.
  2. Drag and drop the desired subtype onto the canvas. Their settings can be adjusted in the Properties grid.
  3. Once the subtype is dragged onto the canvas, it displays the default Visible Layers based on the configuration defined in the subtype’s Icon Editor in Advanced Mode.
  4. For each status, adjust the visible layers for the subtype icon. Either right-click the icon to access the Layers Editor or click on the Layers button located under the Properties grid.
  5. The Layers Editor allows you to define all possible statuses the subtype can display. Choose which status is shown by selecting which layers are visible using the checkboxes under the Eye Icon column.
  6. To display what the asset will look like after an alarm has been acknowledged, duplicate the icon and check the box in the Checkmark Circle column. Click OK.
  7. Select the caption color for the icon. See the Edit Caption Color section on the Advanced Icon Mode page for more information.
  8. Choose whether the caption should blink for that status by checking the Is Blinking checkbox.
  9. Drag a new icon from the Toolbox or copy and paste an existing one to create additional status representations.
  10. Repeat the previous steps for each icon status you need to represent.
  11. Add Captions or Labels to define and organize assets in the layout.
