Database Maintenance

Over time, your logging database will eventually become full with logging records. To be able to continue logging new events, the database will need to be periodically purged. You can either use built-in maintenance on your SQL Server, or the Storage Maintenance Utility.

To purge data with the Storage Maintenance Utility, follow the steps below.
Important: It is recommended to always make a backup prior to purging the database.
  1. On your machine, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\IPFusion\Reporting Client and open the Storage Maintenance application.
  2. In the Storage Maintenance Utility enter the Server Address for the logging database.
  3. If the user you are currently logged in as does not have permissions to the database, uncheck Current Windows User. Enter in the Username and Password of the user to log in as.
  4. If there were changes made such as an update to the labels identifying assets or Workstations, click Update Filters.
  5. Click the Backup button.
  6. Select Backup and enter the location for the file. Click Run.
  7. Once the backup is complete, select Purge. Choose the Purge data older than date. Click Run.

If you need to restore previously backed up and purged data, click the Restore button and select the backup restore from.
