Lock the Position of Icons on a Map

When a Map or Display Layout has crowded or stacked objects, locking the positions of icons on a map helps declutter the space. This assists in preventing the accidental selection of the wrong object.

Use Project Explorer to secure the position of objects. You can lock the position of integrated system assets, Display Layout Items and Drawing Objects.

  1. In Project Explorer go to Maps or, Display Layouts and expand the tree.
  2. Select the name of the integrated system, Display Layout Items or Drawing Objects.
  3. Click the Lock icon, or right-click the name and select Lock (or Unlock if you wish to select the objects).
