Senstar Network Manager

The Senstar Network Manager system manages the integration of perimeter detection devices.

Ports

These ports must be open in your network firewall for the integration to work.

Communication Settings

Open the configuration for the Senstar Network Manager system and navigate to the Communication Settings to start setting up your devices. Configure these items:

Table 1. Communication Settings
Primary IP Address The IP address where the Network Manager software is running.
Alternate IP Address The backup computer’s IP address, used if the primary system goes down.

Name The name of the Senstar Network Manager system.
Unit ID The unique identifier assigned to the device managed by the Senstar Network Manager.
Type Specifies the network type of the Senstar device to be selected from available options:
  • Silver
  • Sennet
  • Starcom
  • FiberPatrol
Node A device connected to the Senstar Network Manager system that can send or receive information.
Device Type Specifies the type of device to be selected from available options.
Description A field to enter additional details or notes about the device.
Import Devices This button allows a user to import a .XML file containing device type and description information. To retrieve the .XML file from the Network Manger:
  1. Go to the NMS Front Panel.
  2. Select the required Network Manager.
  3. Navigate to the Configure tab.
  4. Click Archive.

Device Asset

Represents a Device asset in the project. This integration supports various types of Device assets, as shown below.

Required Property Grid Fields

Device Select the device within the chosen Senstar Network Manager system defined in the project. This could be one of the following:

Network The Senstar Network Manager system defined in the project.

Supported States

Acknowledged An asset alarm has been acknowledged.
Fault An issue has been detected in a connected asset.
Masked The asset has been masked over its true state.
Normal The asset is online and in its default state.
No Communication Communication has been lost with the driver or asset. This status can also occur if the communication configuration for the system or asset is invalid.
Note: This status is required in all status tables.
Enclosure Tamper The asset is being physically accessed or tampered with.
Note: This state is not available for the UltraLink I/O and MPS-4100 device.
Processor Offline The processor is no longer communicating with the system.
Note: This state is only available for the FlexZone devices.

Note: This asset can have other states depending on the type of device being used. For information on specific cases, refer to the chart below.

Input Asset

This asset represents the status of an input point.

Required Property Grid Fields

Device The device defined in the project within the chosen Senstar Network Manager system.
Point The point number of the input on the device, located in the Nodes tab under the Configure Network Manager Service menu in the NMS Front Panel.
Network The Senstar Network Manager system defined in the project.

Supported States

Acknowledged An asset alarm has been acknowledged.
Alarm Indicates that a device has been triggered to signal an alarm.
Fault An issue has been detected in a connected asset.
Masked The asset has been masked over its true state.
No Communication Communication has been lost with the driver or asset. This status can also occur if the communication configuration for the system or asset is invalid.
Note: This status is required in all status tables.
Secure The input device is online but not activated.
Trouble The input asset is experiencing an issue that prevents it from operating normally.
Tamper The input has been tampered with, occurring when the voltage moves outside the expected ranges.

This asset is representation of the connection state of the Senstar Network Manager.

Mate Connected Indicates a healthy connection between the primary and alternate nodes.
Mate Disconnected Indicates no connection or a degraded connection between the primary and alternate nodes.
No Communication Communication has been lost with the driver or asset. This status can also occur if the communication configuration for the system or asset is invalid.
Note: This status is required in all status tables.
Normal The asset is online and in its default state.

Troubleshooting

Logs from the driver and Runtime can be viewed in the Debug Tools client. These messages contain information which can provide further context for issues during initialization, or while actively running. This can help diagnose problems.
