Cooper Fifth Light

The Cooper Fifth Light integrated system provides individual control of lighting ballasts, drivers, and controls. The Cooper Fifth Light system is integrated into IPFusion by design. For further information about this integration, please contact support.

Note: BACnet integrated systems support cross subdomain communication via BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device) without the need for additional configuration in Designer.

Setup

See the Data Servers page for information on configuring driver communication.

Compatibility

The Cooper Fifth Light integrated system is compatible:

  • Product Model Number: FPA-W34/FPA-W44
  • Product Name: ProtoAir
  • BACnet Protocol Revision: Version 1 Revision 16

BACnet Object Types

Asset Object
Light BACNET_APPLICATION_TAG_REAL
Lighting Zone BACNET_APPLICATION_TAG_REAL

Prerequisites

Software Minimum Version
IPFusion — Cooper Fifth Light 1.0
.NET Framework 4.7.2

When completing your setup, be sure to have the Cooper Fifth Light documentation available for reference.

Ports

These ports must be open in your network firewall for the integration to work.

Purpose Default Value Configurable

Communication Configuration

You will find the Communication Settings in the integrated system configuration panel. The following information is required:

IP Address The IP Address of the Fifth Light BACnet gateway.
Port The Port for the Fifth Light BACnet gateway connection.
Device ID The Device ID of the Fifth Light BACnet gateway.
Note: Red X indicates an invalid or out of range value given for field.

Assets

Light

This asset represents a single light device in the Cooper Fifth Light system.

Required Property Grid Fields

BACnet ID The ID of the BACnet entity the asset represents.

Supported States

Acknowledged An asset alarm has been acknowledged.
Ballast Fail There has been an issue detected with the connected ballast.
Ballast Unreachable BACnet is unable to connect to the lighting ballast.
Fault An issue has been detected in a connected asset.
Lamp Fail There has been an issue detected with the connected lamp.
Masked The asset has been masked over its true state.
No Communication Communication has been lost with the driver or asset. This status can also occur if the communication configuration for the system or asset is invalid.
Note: This status is required in all status tables.
On For a single light, its power is set to 100%. For a group of lights, at least one light in the group is above 0%.
Off A single light, or all lights in a group, are set to 0% power.
Percentage On Range The current power level of the light falls within the range specified in the status configuration.
  • Lower Threshold — Lowest value of the power level of the light in a user-defined range.
  • Upper Threshold — Highest value of the power level of the light in a user-defined range.

See the Configure a Status Table page for more information on configuring status tables.

Supported Commands

Acknowledge Acknowledge an asset alarm.
Cancel Deselects all selected assets.
Mask Mask the asset's true state.
On Sets the light to 100% power.
Off Sets light to 0% power.
Percentage On Sets light to a specific power level.
  • Brightness — The power level of the light from 0% to 100%.
Reset Resets the asset to its true hardware state.
Return to Schedule Return to the scheduled brightness value.

See the Command Tables page for more information on configuring command tables.

Zone

Light zones are represented as predefined groups of lights configured using the Cooper Fifth Light proprietary software.

Troubleshooting

Unable to Connect to Assets

If you are having trouble connecting to the assets in your system, the BACnet objects may be configured with the incorrect type. Ensure your BACnet object is configured to use the correct object type.

Logs from the driver and Runtime can be viewed in the Debug Tools client. These messages contain information which can provide further context for issues during initialization, or while actively running. This can help diagnose problems.
