Rauland Responder III
The Rauland Responder integrated system provides nurse call integration.
Setup
See the Data Servers page for information on configuring driver communication.
Compatibility
The Rauland Responder integrated system is compatible with Rauland Responder III Plus.
Prerequisites
Software | Minimum Version |

Communication Configuration
You will find the Communication Settings in the integrated system configuration panel. The following information is required:
Name | Description | Default |
---|---|---|
Port Name | The name of a serial port used for serial communication to the endpoint device. | COM1 |
Baud Rate | The rate at which information is transferred in a communication channel in bits per second. | 4800 |
Poll Frequency (ms) | The frequency at which the state is checked in milliseconds. | 2500 |
Data Bits | The number of bits used to represent one character of data. | 8 |
Parity |
A parity bit is a bit added to a string of binary code to ensure the
total number of one-bits in a string is even or odd.
|
None |
Stop Bits |
The number of bits to indicate the end of a byte.
|
One |
Handshake |
A method to prevent too fast of a flow of bytes from overrunning a
receiver, preventing lost bytes and errors.
|
None |
DTR Enabled | Enables the Data Terminal Ready (DTR) signal during serial communication. DTR is typically enabled during XON/XOFF software handshaking and Request to Send/Clear to Send (RTS/CTS) hardware handshaking, and modem communications. | Checked |
RTS Enabled | Enables the Request to Send (RTS) signal is enabled during serial communication. The RTS signal is typically used in Request to Send/Clear to Send (RTS/CTS) hardware handshaking. | Unchecked |
Assets
Bed Station
This asset represents a bed station in the Rauland Responder III system.
Required Property Grid Fields
Room Number |
This number is used to call a station. Typically, the
station is given the same number as the room in which it is installed.
Any 2–4 digit number may be used, subject to these restrictions:

Troubleshooting
Logs from the driver and Runtime can be viewed in the Debug Tools client. These messages contain information which can provide further context for issues during initialization, or while actively running. This can help diagnose problems.
