Find SNMP OIDs

To route an SNMP object to your object or trap asset, its OID is required. An SNMP browser can be used to find the OID. In the below example, we are using MIB Browser.

To find the OID for an object:

  1. Open the MIB Browser and enter the device address into the Address field. Click Go.
  2. Navigate to the object you wish to connect to, and select it. Right-click the object and click Get Bulk. In the right list view, all child objects will be added for that OID.
  3. Copy the OID and paste it into the OID property of your object or trap asset.
Note: The Syntax field in the MIB Browser will contain the data type which the object uses. Keep this in mind when configuring the statuses for your assets.
