Retrieve Genetec ID

To add an asset to the Genetec Security Center Omnicast integrated system, you will need its Logical ID. This is used to uniquely identify the asset in the Genetec system.

  1. Open your Genetec system software.
  2. If the Logical ID is already assigned, go to the System settings. Navigate to General Settings > Logical ID.
  3. Note the Logical ID for the asset.

  4. If you have not yet assigned a Logical ID, go to the Video settings, and navigate to the asset. Insert a unique ID in the Logical ID field.

  5. Open Designer. In Project Explorer, go to Maps and click the Map containing the corresponding Genetec asset.
  6. Click the asset which requires it's Logical ID. In the Properties grid, go to Genetec Settings > Genetec ID and enter the Logical ID.
